Kamilla
My bed felt so amazing this morning. The sheets felt like they were caressing my body, inviting me to lay there forever. It seemed like my body was tingling all over, and every shift in the sheets was sending shivers down my spine. I barely managed to stop myself from moaning out loud.
I dreamed about my New Year’s Eve kiss again, but in my dream it went much further. She was kissing and touching me all over, driving me crazy, but when I opened my eyes it was Dani staring into my eyes, not Quila.
I ran my hands along my inner thighs, and am surprised to find them come up wet. Did I… I flip up my covers and see myself laying in a wet spot.
”FUCK ME!” I whisper harshly. I had a fucking wet dream.
”Fuck you?” Rashad asks, propping himself up on his elbows on the other side of my bed, “I don’t think your girlfriend would appreciate that very much.”
HOLY FUCK!
I HAD A WET DREAM
ABOUT DANI
WITH RASHAD IN MY BED
“GET OUT!” I scream at the top of my lungs.
Rashad falls backward out of my bed and hits the floor. He peeks over the side of the bed at me.
”OUT!” I shriek again, almost hysterical with confusion and embarrassment.
Rashad, already in a T-shirt and boxers, gathers up the clothes he was wearing the day before and scurries out of my room.
What the hell is wrong with me? I asked myself as I sunk into the chair in the corner of my room, taking deep breaths as I stared out the window to the empty street. Why is this happening to me?
I heaved a sigh before stripping off my clothes and walked into my bathroom to take a shower. I taking my time, I let the hot water wash all around me, and make sure to scrub every inch of myself. When I step into the hall, walking to my room, the smell of bacon frying hits my nose and washes away thoughts of almost anything else.
”Mom must be cooking,” I mumble as I pull fresh sheets out of the linen closet. I strip the sheets from the bed and toss them in the hamper before flipping the mattress. I finally start getting dressed after the fresh sheets are on and the bed is made up.
After putting on my usher’s uniform, I fold up my favorite purple skirt, and a black knee length skirt with shoes to match, and put them in my bag. Gotta have something to wear to brunch after church.
I’m checking myself in the mirror when my phone rings.
The caller ID says “Mom”
”I’ll be down to breakfast in a minute Mama,” I answer.
”Breakfast? Girl church bout to start!” her Creole accent coloring her English, “You know you’re supposed to today! MOVE YA BOTTOM!”
I start to say, “Yes ma’am,” but she’s already hung up in my face. I look at the clock on the wall and see that church starts in 15 minutes. SHIT! I grab my jacket, bag, and Bible, and take the stairs two at a time to get downstairs.
The smell of breakfast slaps me across again.
”I made you a sandwich,” Rashad says coming around the corner from my kitchen already dressed in his uniform. He puts a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on toast in my hand that is so fresh I can still see steam rising of of it. “Let’s get out of here.”
The ride to church is mostly silent, bot of us stuffing our faces as Rashad drives. As we pull into the parking lot I turn to him and apologize for earlier.
”Don’t worry about it,” is his answer, “I always knew you were crazy anyway.” and I punch him in the arm for his trouble.
We walk into the church foyer together laughing, and are greeted by the head Usher.
”Rashad, I need you at the doors to the sanctuary, Diamond is already there. Kam, with the extra help from Diamond I’m fully staffed, why don’t you sit today out?”
We both stand there staring at her, “Huh?” Rashad says.
She looks at her watch, “Rashad, I’ve got a service to run, get to your post or I’ll get someone else to do it,” she sasy before walking away.
We shrug at each other and, after going back to the car and changing my clothes, I take a seat in the pews. I am confused, but not particularly bothered. The youth choir is singing today, and Dani has a lead, the church loves to hear her sing.
The choir beings to file in through door at the front of the sanctuary and take their places in the choir stands, Rashad opens the door at the rear and looks bewildered as Dani slides through, her choir robe draped over her arm.
She slides down the pew and takes a seat next to me and leans her head on my shoulder.
”What happened? What’s going on Dani?” I whisper as another girl fumbles through the song she loves to lead.
”I don’t know,” she whispers back, her voice and her body shaking, “they just said they don’t need me today.”
I look up at the door, my questioning look intended for Rashad, but end up looking into Diamond’s eyes as a wicked smile crosses her face.
